more scribbles from dune!
paleontology is way sweet! kynes is the paleontologist on arrakis and he is a badass.
kynes is one of my favorite characters so far. though i got kind of confused and thought he was a fremen, one of the dudes native to the dune planet. i guess he’s just been there a while because he likes doing stuff the tough way. a wizard set me straight. but for this drawing pretend he’s a fremen or at least got their general vibe. i gave him dreads and a tiny pile of sand on his head. it’s sandy in the desert.
don’t let this picture fool you. i stamp tooled the heck out of the space around the drawing, my sketchbooks are clutter central.
I misread Kyne’s speech bubble as “This Duke a cool one”. I dig your version of Kynes!

Small nitpick…Liet-Kynes is the planet ecologist, not the paleontologist. A badass any way you slice it!
o rly?! i believe he may be a man of many hats! because he is the ecologist too for sure, but the paleontologist stuck out in my head because it was a weird word to use…check out this writeup on barns and noble that’s sort of the bookjacket summary:
