two months ago, someone out there decided they should take the highway to the danger zone right into the danger zone.
in taking my most valued material possession and primary mode of transport from me [by cutting the bolts off the stop sign, hoisting it lock and all over top of the post and fleeing like a coward into the darkness. they did not win it fairly in a thunderdome match or a game of crossfire.] this stranger has incurred my wrath. oh and the wrath of a tiny sicilian/concentrated humanoid is boundless.
i have since ordered a new bike so that i may once again be mobile. and appropriately i have named it vengeance [the demon whip]. tempered from raw steel built beyond the 7 seas. with vengeance i shall ride to protect those who may fall victim to bike theft and to avenge those who have been wronged in such a manner. a trying charge indeed.
to aid me in this quest i had prepared this pendant to be mounted on it’s headtube.
HOWEVER recently it seems to have been vanquished to the nether-realms and i’m left without it’s aid! because everyone knows magical talisman are a primary source of such powers.
so to you i pose this offer:
if someone will purchase a replacement talisman/pendant currently available here [though please get in touch before taking me up on this]

is that new bike a swobo? just curious after seeing it on oC’s flikr. (I’ve always lusted for a galvanized Sanchez.)
it’s actually a cheapass kilo tt from here: http://bikesdirect.com/products/mercier/kilott_stripper.htm in the raw steel “color” with a clear coat.
the frame is reynolds 520 cro-moly steel which isn’t bad. the parts aren’t the best but i’m going to swap them out over time. for the money it’s pretty solid and less than half the cost of a eai godzilla FRAME for a whole bike. i’m pretty ok with that. you can get just a frame too.
i think a buddy of mine has a swobo and he seems to like it! looks nice too!

dude that’s awesome! i was just at bicycle habitat yesterday too! i bought a second u lock for my front wheel but maybe the cable is a better choice, a lil lighter, and i should get something going to secure my seat [or get a better seat that i don’t want to get stolen…

what do you ride?
yeah the video is awsome. if Hal had a weekly tv show rating bike locking, i’d tune in every week. i’ll be using the idea of securing the seat with an old length of bike chain wrapped in an old inner tube on my town bike.
my rides include: an around town noodley Fuji Track bike; an ancient C’dale Delta V for backwoods trail maintenance (upgraded w/ ENO Eric SS hub and PVC scabbard to hold machete); a Waltworks 29er; and a Waltworks CX. (an eclectic mix that is decidedly more rural than urban eh?)
